Creating a repository of knowledge and memories for future generations
The Memory Room preserves cultural heritage by digitizing spaces and artifacts for future generations.
For the first half of my creative practice, I focused on building technology solutions to empower communities. This path follows a lineage of community service—from my mother, who began as a community officer and rose to lead community and local government operations for the state, to my ancestors, regents of Lagos Island, where our ancestral home stood on a pepper farm. My journey has taught me this: there's nothing quite like knowing who you are, where you're from, and the stories that withstand time. To me, family heritage is the true wealth.
Fresco's group exhibition showcases artists using line drawings and portraiture to delve into complex human emotions and life's duality. The artists explore their subjects' inner worlds, depicting stories of loved ones, alter-egos, abuse survivors, and sometimes themselves.
